ABOUT THE PROJECT
About bushsteps
Bushfire preparation, emergency information and recovery support for regional Victoria.
Important: bushsteps does not replace emergency authorities or determine whether an area or route is safe.
Developed by Firewatch.
OUR PURPOSE
One clear next step
Preparation, official information and recovery guidance in one place.
Designed for regional Victorian communities
The initial focus is Gippsland residents, including older adults, people living alone, families, people with medication needs and households with pets or animals.
EVIDENCE AND OPEN DATA
Why fire history is included
Historical records support research. They are not live warnings or evidence that an area is safe.
